Welcome to the official rules and guidelines page for the Adventure Race from Upminister train station to London. This event is designed to be a fun and exciting journey for children aged 11 to 15 (to start with before we onboard 18+ as it's a trial run) ensuring safety and simplicity throughout the race. Below you'll find all the information you need to participate.

Route Selection:
Start Point: Upminister Train Station
End Point: LondonTower Bridge
Checkpoints in London:
Checkpoint 1: (will be disclosed on the day of the event)
Checkpoint 2: (will be disclosed on the day of the event)
Checkpoint 3: (will be disclosed on the day of the event)
Departure from Upminister Train Station:
All groups will start together at the same time.
Example Start Time: 9:00 AM
Arrival at Checkpoint 1:
Record the arrival time of each group.
The first group departs after the last group arrives.
The subsequent groups depart based on the additional time they took to arrive at the checkpoint.
Example Arrival Times at Checkpoint 1:
Group 1: 10:00 AM
Group 2: 10:15 AM (15 minutes later than Group 1)
Group 3: 10:30 AM (15 minutes later than Group 2)
Departure Times from Checkpoint 1:
Group 1: 10:30 AM
Group 2: 10:45 AM (15 minutes after Group 1)
Group 3: 11:00 AM (15 minutes after Group 2)
Arrival at Checkpoint 2:
Record the arrival time of each group.
The first group departs after the last group arrives.
The subsequent groups depart based on the additional time they took to arrive at the checkpoint.
Example Arrival Times at Checkpoint 2:
Group 1: 11:45 AM (1 hour 15 minutes travel time)
Group 2: 12:05 PM (20 minutes later than Group 1)
Group 3: 12:20 PM (15 minutes later than Group 2)
Departure Times from Checkpoint 2:
Group 1: 12:20 PM
Group 2: 12:40 PM (20 minutes after Group 1)
Group 3: 12:55 PM (15 minutes after Group 2)

Record the arrival time of each group.
The first group departs after the last group arrives.
The subsequent groups depart based on the additional time they took to arrive at the checkpoint.

Group 1: 1:50 PM (1 hour 30 minutes travel time)
Group 2: 2:10 PM (20 minutes later than Group 1)
Group 3: 2:30 PM (20 minutes later than Group 2)
Departure Times from Checkpoint 3:
Group 1: 2:30 PM
Group 2: 2:50 PM (20 minutes after Group 1)
Group 3: 3:10 PM (20 minutes after Group 2)
Arrival at London Tower Bridge (End Point):
All groups arrive at different times based on their departure times from Checkpoint 3.
Example Arrival Times:
Group 1: 4:00 PM
Group 2: 4:20 PM
Group 3: 4:40 PM

Arrival and Departure at Checkpoint 1:
Group 1: Arrives 10:00 AM, Departs 10:30 AM
Group 2: Arrives 10:15 AM, Departs 10:45 AM
Group 3: Arrives 10:30 AM, Departs 11:00 AM
Arrival and Departure at Checkpoint 2:
Group 1: Arrives 11:45 AM, Departs 12:20 PM
Group 2: Arrives 12:05 PM, Departs 12:40 PM
Group 3: Arrives 12:20 PM, Departs 12:55 PM
Arrival and Departure at Checkpoint 3:
Group 1: Arrives 1:50 PM, Departs 2:30 PM

Arrival at London Tower Bridge: (All groups arrive at different times)
Group 1: 4:00 PM

This approach allows each group to depart from each checkpoint based on the time taken by the last group to arrive, ensuring a staggered progression towards the end point.
Safety:
We have dedicated supervisor with our participants throughout the race.
Transportation:
Use public transportation (trains or buses) to cover the distance between Upminister Train Station and London.
We Ensure all participants have valid tickets or passes.
Teams:
Participants are divided into small teams of 2-4 members.
Each team must have a responsible adult chaperone.
Timing:
We use a simple timekeeping system to track progress.
General Rules:
Emergency Use Only:
Mobile phones must be switched on and kept in a sealed bag provided by the organizers to allow parents to track progress.
Phones can only be taken out of the sealed bag and used in genuine emergencies (e.g., if a participant is lost or injured).
Prohibited Actions:
Mobile phones must not be used for internet browsing, including searching for directions, using Google Maps, or any other map services.
Social media or messaging apps must not be used to seek help or hints from external sources.
Monitoring:
Event organizers will perform checks at checkpoints to ensure phones are sealed in the bags.
Any participant found violating these rules will face penalties.
Use of Mobile Phones:
Phones can be used to take photos and videos only when checked in at checkpoints and with organizer approval.
Participants can use their phones to keep track of time but only at designated times and places set by the organizers.
Location Services:
Location services on mobile phones must be turned on for parents to track progress but should not be used by participants.
Event organizers may check settings at checkpoints to ensure compliance.
Respect for Other Participants:
Participants should respect others and not use their mobile phones to disturb or distract other teams.
Traveling with Participants:
Cheaporans will accompany participants throughout the event to take videos and photos.
They will document the journey and provide support as needed.
Assistance and Monitoring:
Cheaporans can assist with directions and ensure participants are on the correct route.
They will monitor participants to ensure compliance with the rules and report any violations to the event organizers.
Emergency Protocol:
Cheaporans are equipped to handle emergencies and can contact event headquarters if needed.
Participants should approach Cheaporans for any immediate help or if they need to use their mobile phones in an emergency.
Checkpoint Verification:
At each checkpoint, participants must check in with the event organizers and show their mobile phones in the sealed bags.
Organizers may unseal and check the phones to ensure they have not been used inappropriately.
Designated Rest Areas:
Specific areas can be designated at each checkpoint where participants can unseal and use their phones under supervision for personal calls.
Use of Maps:
Printed maps and compasses will be provided to all participants to navigate the route without the need for digital assistance.
First Violation: A warning and a time penalty (e.g., 15 minutes added to their total time).
Second Violation: A more significant time penalty (e.g., 30 minutes) or disqualification from winning any prizes.
Third Violation: Disqualification from the event.
Equipment:
Provide each team with a race kit including a map, a list of checkpoints, tickets/passes for public transport, and emergency contact information.
Safety Measures:
Ensure all participants have mobile phones for communication.
We would have meeting point at each checkpoint with volunteers to monitor arrivals and note the timings.
Registration:
Fill up online registration form if your children like to participants.
We need consent forms from parents or guardians.
Briefing:
We would have a pre-race briefing session to explain the rules, route, and safety guidelines.
Race Kits:
Prepare and distribute race kits to each team during the briefing session.
Start Line:
We kick off the race with an opening ceremony at Upminister Train Station.
We hand out race kits and maps to each team.
Checkpoints:
We ensure each checkpoint in London is manned by volunteers.
Record the arrival time of each team at each checkpoint.
Finish Line:
Welcome participants at the final checkpoint Tower Hill
We would have a small celebration with refreshments and a prize-giving ceremony for the winning team.
Feedback:
Collect feedback from participants and parents to improve future events.
Recognition:
Provide certificates of participation for all participants.
Highlight notable performances and team spirit.
Photo and Video Sharing:
We would capture moments throughout the race and share them with participants and parents via social media or a dedicated event page.
