Welcome to the official Rules and Guidelines page for the Race Around the World – London Challenge. This event is a self-guided, clue-based urban race designed for participants aged 15 and over, testing your navigation, teamwork, and creativity without the help of technology.
This version replaces previous formats involving supervision, public transport, or race kits – this is lean, exciting, and entirely up to you and your team.
Theme: Urban adventure challenge through London
Start Point: Tower Hill Station
Checkpoints: Locations given at the start of the race
End Point: Will be disclosed on the day
Start Time: 10:00 AM sharp
Prize: 🥇 £100 Cash to the winning team (based on 10 participants)
Participants are given paper maps and the locations of the checkpoints at the starting point.
The paper maps can be used to navigate your way to each checkpoint.
After reaching and taking a photograph of each checkpoint, participants will make their way to the final checkpoint.
Public transport is permitted.
Participants may join solo or in teams of 2–4
This event is unsupervised – you are responsible for your own decisions and safety
While the winner is primarily based on first to finish, here’s a sample timing format if staggered timing is used for fun or fairness:

Reach each location using your navigation skills
Record your arrival time if instructed (self-reported or spot-checked)
No staff will be placed at checkpoints — this is self-managed
First to arrive at the final destination and confirm with the organizer wins
A short closing gathering and prize handover will take place
Plan each journey between checkpoints before moving
Avoid backtracking — think through your navigation
Stay alert for misdirection
Receive a certificate of participation
Optional group photo at the finish
Feedback form will be shared to improve future races
